Express Entry System (EE)

EE is an online system that is used to manage immigration applications from skilled workers. Check eiligibility

  • Candidates are placed into the pool of eligible candidates and ranked against one another based on their age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors in a max 1200-point score system (CRS) score.
  • Candidates must be eligible for one of the immigration programs in Express Entry to get into the pool, to be chosen from the pool and invited to apply.
  • Candidates need to have one of the highest-ranking scores when Immigration Refugees and Citizens Canada (IRCC) sends out invitations.
  • Candidate can apply for permanent residence once issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA)

Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system that is used to assess and score a candidate’s profile and rank it in the Express Entry pool. The points received from the CRS include a core set of points up to 600 and a set of additional points of up to 600. Core: Up to 600 points

  • Skills and experience factors
  • Spouse or common-law partner factors: language skills and education
  • Skills transferability, including education and work experience

Additional: Up to 600 points

  • Canadian degrees, diplomas or certificates
  • a valid job offer
  • a nomination from a province or territory
  • a brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident
  • strong French language skills
There are three Immigration programs managed through  Express Entry

1. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)  

  • for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience
  • work experience must have been gained in the 3 years before you apply

  • for skilled workers with foreign work experience
  • must meet criteria for education and other factors

3. Federal Skilled Trades Program

  • for skilled workers who are qualified in a skilled trade
  • must have a valid job offer or a certificate of qualification

Family Sponsorship

Relatives can live, study and work in Canada if they become permanent residents of Canada. A person can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if they’re at least 18 years old and a: Canadian citizen or person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or permanent resident of Canada

Spouse/ Dependent Sponsorship

Canadian citizens and permanent residents may sponsor their spouse or common-law partner or dependent children for immigration to Canada. If successful, the sponsored person obtains permanent resident status, allowing them to become permanent residents of Canada.

The sponsor must be able to:

  • support them financially and
  • make sure they don’t need social assistance from the government
Parent and grandparent Sponsorship

The Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship Program (PGP) allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents the opportunity to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada. Applicants must first submit an interest to sponsor form to be eligible to apply:

Eligibility
  • must be invited to apply.
  • be at least 18 years old
  • you live in Canada
  • a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
  • have sufficient funds to support family members
    – to show that you have enough, you’ll have to provide your proof of income
    – you may have a spouse or common-law partner co-sign to combine your incomes
  • meet all other requirements under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations
